Roof Insulation

Spray applied foam helps to meet Building Regulations Approved Documents L and F (England & Wales); The Building (Scotland) Regulations 6.1(b) and 6.2; and The Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 39(a)(i) and 40(2).

The foam can be applied to various depths and has a K-value in the range of 0.025 to 0.028W/mK. When sprayed to a depth of 85mm the U-value of a typical roof with 100mm fibreglass at ceiling level is reduced from 0.34W/m2K to 0.16W/m2K, surpassing current Building Regulations.

  • The foam acts as a protective barrier, preventing the ingress of wind-driven rain and snow
  • Will provide more resistance against storm or impact damage – increasingly important with the onset of erratic weather conditions

Your chosen installer will perform a survey prior to installation to check suitability, i.e. the roof should be structurally sound with any defects resolved prior to installation.

When spray-applied foam is applied to the underside of the roof this bonds slates and tiles to each other and to the structural or supporting timbers.

  • This is particularly beneficial where there are signs of nail fatigue
  • Great for weatherproofing (against ingress of rain, storm damage prevention, etc)
